Value Growth Manager

Veendam, Hilversum
Full-time
Temporary

About the position

Are you passionate about commercial analytics, revenue growth, and strategic decision-making? EQOM, part of the Waterland Private Equity portfolio, is looking for a Value Growth Manager to play a key role in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing commercial performance, and accelerating our continued success.

The Commercial Growth Analyst turns data into commercial action. The role exists to systematically identify, quantify and track the realization of commercial growth opportunities across the B2B customer base, and to translate these into concrete, prioritized recommendations, so called ‘next best actions’, for account management and sales leadership.
Where account managers today rely largely on individual judgement and customer relationships to spot opportunities, this role adds a structured, fact-based layer: making visible where assortment whitespaces exist at customers, where margins are eroding, where private label penetration is below potential, and where pricing or distribution choices leave value on the table. The role is a key enabler of the B2B growth agenda in net revenue management, pricing and distribution.

POSITION DETAILS

The role forms the Commercial Growth Management function within the B2B organization and reports directly to the Chief B2B Officer. It works in service of the full B2B commercial team: Wholesale and MSR Europe, US and Rest of World, and Marketplaces EU. The role has no line management responsibility and no direct customer facing accountability; commercial ownership of accounts remains with account management, however when needed will support account management with customer facing opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Opportunity identification: analyze customer, category, pricing and margin data to identify concrete growth and value protection opportunities per account and per channel (e.g. assortment whitespaces, private label upside, margin pressure, pricing and promo leakage, distribution gaps).
  • Next best actions: translate analyses into a prioritized, quantified list of recommended actions per account or account cluster, including expected value, effort and suggested owner, and hand these over to account management in a usable format.
  • Tracking and follow up: maintain a structured pipeline of identified opportunities, track adoption and realization by the commercial team, and report progress and realized value to the Chief B2B Officer and the B2B leadership team.
  • Commercial performance insight: build and maintain recurring dashboards and analyses on B2B commercial performance (revenue, margin mix, private label share, customer profitability, price and discount effectiveness) in close cooperation with the data team.
  • Supports strategic projects: deliver analytical support to B2B priority projects, including net revenue management, wholesale discount framework, pricing and distribution project, and private label acceleration.
  • Cross functional alignment: work closely with Finance (margin and customer profitability data), Category Management (assortment and portfolio logic) and the central Data team (data infrastructure, definitions and tooling) to ensure one consistent fact base.
  • Continuous improvement: standardize and automate recurring analyses over time, contributing to a scalable analytics capability within B2B, including adoption of new technologies (like B2B Genie space)

Key interfaces:

  • Internal: Chief B2B Officer, Heads of the B2B channels, account managers, Finance, Category Management, central Data team, B2C counterparts where cross channel topics apply (e.g. pricing and marketplace exposure).
  • External: none structurally; occasional participation in customer meetings to support account management with data and insight.

Success measures:

The success of this role is measured on the quality and adoption of its output, not on commercial outcomes that are owned by account management:
  • Quality of identified and quantified opportunities per month/quarter, validated with commercial leadership.
  • Adoption rate: share of recommended next best actions actively executed by account management.
  • Realized value of adopted actions (revenue, margin), tracked jointly with Finance.
  • Availability, accuracy and timeliness of agreed dashboards and recurring analyses.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction of the commercial team and B2B leadership with the usability of insights.

About you

Do you bring the following to our company?

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in commercial analytics, business analysis, revenue management or a comparable analytical role, preferably in consumer goods, ecommerce, FMCG or retail.
  • Demonstrable experience translating data into commercial recommendations that were acted upon by sales or account teams.
  • Strong command of analytical tooling (e.g. Excel, Power BI, AI insghts, or comparable BI tools); affinity with pricing, margin and assortment analytics is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of B2B commercial dynamics: account management, trade terms, pricing and discount structures, private label economics.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch and/or German is an advantage.
